Ashley is faced with the misery of war and the travails of an unfulfilled marriage. Struggling to pull through in life, she runs into Dan in a nightclub while rummaging for a pick. Dan eventually falls in love and proposes to her, despite her squalid profession  and refugee status. He is determined to change her life. But as though she is destined for misfortune. Ashley ‘s light of life joy and hope for a new dawn is quenched by Dan’s untimely death.

Her life becomes a nightmare. She is accused of being responsible for Dan’s death. For this reason she is made to  swear an oath to vindicate herself .  The  thought  of returning to her home country (Liberia) erupts after series of torture by Dan’s family.
